Urban area are vibrant source of all basic facility like education, employment opportunity basic health facility and cultural diversity. Everybody has desire to get these facility on a single click. The desire to get these facilities people migrate towards urban area, and urban area sprawl randomly and faces many environmental issues. Urbanization has brought us many benefits, but also exacerbated climatic crisis, cities are hub consumption and pollution, and they are disproportionately vulnerable to the impact of climate change, such as extreme heat, flooding and air pollution.

As cities sprawl randomly sustainable urban planning emerge as crucial tool to create resilient cities. Sustainable urban planning involves creating cities that minimize their environmental impact, promote renewable energy uses, prioritized the well-being of residents. Key elements include green infrastructure, energy efficient building public transport and availability of clean drinking water supply.

Incorporating green spaces, such as park and urban forest into city design helps absorb carbon dioxide emission and provide ecosystem for species.

Incorporating public transport system is fundamental to sustainable urban planning. Encouraging the use of buses, trains, and bicycle over personal vehicle use reduce the emission of carbon, and enhance overall mobility.

Here are some example of sustainable urban planning help top improve urban climate:

  • Chinese government introduced policies for sustainable urban planning climate change mitigation.
  • They introduced five year plan includes goals meets up to 2025: the percentage of days with good air quality in cities should rise to 87%.implement recycling transformation in industrial pilot parks. Build 100 “zero waste” cities and promote zero-waste development in each province.
  • China has proposed to increase investment in the green building materials and key technologies and to take the lead in adopting green building materials in government invested projects, aiming to increase the application rate of green building materials.

These are just a few examples of the Chinese government for sustainable urban planning and climate change mitigation by working with private and collectively with people to achieve climate justice. By building solidarity and working together, we can create a more just and sustainable future for all.
